
23rd annual fish-o-rama Event
rules & regulations
Please read and adhere to ALL rules and regulations prior to participating in this years' fundraising event.
- All participants must have a properly obtained registration including a wristband - the wristband must be worn at all times when on the Fish-O-Rama grounds, this includes anyone in the park. The Fish-O-Rama wristband must be displayed or shown upon the request of any Fish-O-Rama volunteer or staff. Failure to have or display a proper wristband will result in disqualification from all prizes and expulsion from the Fish-O-Rama site. Everyone in the vehicle MUST raise their hand and show wristband when entering the event.
- All participants must enter the Fish-O-Rama grounds (at all times) only through an approved entrance regardless if the entry is made by vehicle or on foot. Anyone attempting to enter the grounds via any other access or method will be removed from the grounds and disqualified from prize consideration.
- All participants must only fish during the hours set forth for the Fish-O-Rama (Saturday 7am to 5pm and Sunday 7am to 1pm). All Fish-O-Rama participants must only fish in the waters designated by the Fish-O-Rama as contest waters (Robbins Lake, Cedar Rapids). No one is allowed to erect or leave any tents, canopies, gear or equipment of any kind on the grounds prior to the event or at any time the grounds are closed to fishing.
- NEW this year per the City of Cedar Rapids Special Events Permit no one is allowed to park or camp at the park after park hours until Thursday August 1st. Anyone parking or camping after park hours prior to Thursday will be asked to leave the park. There also MUST be one person with the vehicle at all times while you are parked in line at the park. If no one is in the vehicle then once someone returns to the vehicle you will be asked to leave your spot and go to the end of the line to enter the park.
- All participants must obey all City, State and Federal laws during the course of this event, including all applicable gaming and fishing laws. If a participant is cited for violation of an applicable law while on the Fish-O-Rama grounds they will be disqualified from any/all prizes and may be expelled from the Fish-O-Rama grounds. No wading or swimming allowed.
- In addition, Fish-O-Rama does not allow the use of chum, boxed bait, chumming buckets, bait blocks or any other manner of fish attraction that does not use hook and line. Fish-O-Rama reserves the right to limit participants to one rod/reel per person.
- Registrations can now be UPGRADED during the course of the event, but must be completed by 4pm on Saturday and Noon on Sunday of the event. Violation of this rule will result in disqualification from all prizes. Please reference our Fish-O-Rama website (www.FOR25.givesmart.com) for complete details of each registration level. To be eligible for the grand prize ($5,000) the participant must be present to win. They are also responsible for any and all tax (state or federal).
- You may claim a prize only for fish that you catch. You must present ONE LIVE fish per visit to the prize tent at a time to claim a prize, dead fish are not eligible. You may not claim a prize for friends, family members or others. If you attempt to claim a prize for a fish that you did not catch you will be disqualified from further participation in this event and may be subject to additional penalties pursuant to the lowa Code. I hereby understand that as the winner of any prize I assume the risk of any accident, injury or property damage and hold harmless all of the organizers of the event.
- Alteration of a tag, fish or any other attempt to fraudulently obtain a prize will result in disqualification from further participation in this event and may be subject to additional penalties pursuant to the lowa Code.
