  • What time will the gates open?

    Gates open for the event at 6am Saturday & Sunday. Fishing will begin at 7am both Saturday & Sunday.

  • What are the fishing times of the event?

    Fishing is permitted on Saturday, from 7am to 5pm, and Sunday, from 7am to 1pm.

  • How many poles can I have in the water?

    Event participants are allowed up to 2 (two) poles in the water however, we reserve the right to ask all participants to use only 1 (one) pole should the lake become overcrowded. Please note, a 3rd (third) pole will NOT be allowed even if you have the endorsement on your license.

  • Do I need a fishing license?

    In accordance with State law, participants 16 years or older, must have a valid Iowa fishing license. Participants younger than 16, you must be accompanied by an adult with a valid fishing Iowa license.

  • Does everyone need a wristband?

    Yes, ALL attendees of the event entering the park must have a wristband - including guests who are not actively fishing.

  • Where are the tagged fish dumped in the lake?

    We will stock channel catfish across all areas of Robins Lake, including the back portion. Fish will not be released in designated locations.

  • Can I set up a tent or canopy the night before?

    Tents and canopies are NOT permitted for the purposes of fishing. There will be corporate sponsors and event tents set up for use prior to the start of the event.

  • Can I bring in my own cooler?

    Yes, participants will be allowed to bring their own coolers. Food will also be available on site during the event.

  • Will bait be sold at the event?

    Yes, bait will be available for purchase during the event and will be located near the registration area as well as the Lakeview Pavilion.

  • Do I have to be present to win?

    Yes, participants MUST be present to win a prize including the grand prize of $5,000.

  • How old do you have to be to win the Grand Prize of $5,000?

    According to the Social & Charitable Gambling license issued by the state of Iowa, any participant is eligible to win the grand prize, as long as they have purchased a $30 wristband for this year's event.
