Mike O'Deen Endowment

The Mike O'Deen Endowment was created for our new Busse Unit (formerly our South Unit), a safe haven for an additional 300 Cedar Rapids children and teens not currently served. This fund was named for Mike O'Deen who was instrumental in bringing Boys & Girls Clubs to Cedar Rapids in 1993.

Program Endowment Fund

The Program Endowment Fund was created as a memorial for former Board Members who have passed away, including Bob Kirsch, Mike O'Deen & Jack Selk. The Program Endowment Fund ensures that no child will ever be turned away because they cannot afford to pay the program fees.

Learn More About Club Programs Supported by the Corridor Community

Ensuring children graduate high school on time is crucial for their future. We provide year-round homework help and engaging summer programs. STEM activities foster curiosity and problem-solving, while our literacy programs enhance reading and writing skills.

Our Workforce Readiness program equips Club members with essential skills for success after graduation. Local businesses and foundations support career exploration through workplace tours, job insights, and real-world learning opportunities.

Programs that empower youth to serve their community, build relationships, sterngthen self-confidence, engage in leadership, and respect diverse cultures. Members can participate in Youth of the Year, where Cedar Rapids has Produce eight winners.

These programs promote and foster creativity and self-expression through arts and crafts, performances, and dance, with activities supported by partners like the Eastern Iowa Arts Academy.

Programs that promote positive behaviors, goal-setting, and self-sufficiency in youth, including Chef's Club activities where kids learn to cook healthy meals and other initiatives that support well-being.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Corridor offer programs that promote physical fitness, stress coping, and social skills, with sports and recreational activities for kids to stay active and have fun.
